There is a 2.5mm external microphone port, and headphones can be plugged through a USB-C adaptor. Pictures and videos are saved on a single UHS-I SD card slot. So what do the critics think of the Fujifilm X100V?
Overall most reviews say that the Fujifilm X100V is one of the best cameras of its category. It offers a great picture quality thanks to its amazing fixed lens and large sensor. The built-in 4 stops ND filters are very convenient for exterior shots. The attractive retro look of the camera adds a nice touch. The vintage vibe is accented by film emulations and filters, both for photos and videos. Controls are easily accessible through dials for quick snaps, and the menus are easy to navigate.
The 425 points autofocus, despite being powerful in most cases, can still give a hard time due to its occasional slowness. Neither the camera nor the lens are stabilized, which can be an issue in low light conditions or handheld videos.

Dpreview.com – 86% (Gold Award) – ‘The X100V is an engaging, well-built camera that produces beautiful images, has best-in-class video, excellent autofocus and optional weather-sealing. Meaningful updates like a tilting touchscreen, updated viewfinder and redesigned lens have us largely looking past its imperfections. Assuming you like the 35mm-equivalent focal length, it makes a strong case as a photographer’s carry-everywhere compact that’s good for all kinds of photography.’
Digitalcameraworld.com – ★★★★½ (Recommended) – ‘We were expecting Fujifilm to put its latest 26.1-megapixel sensor into the new X100V, but the company has done a lot more besides. The X100V has a new, sharper lens to do justice to the latest sensor and the tilting touchscreen on the back makes this camera much easier to use at awkward angles, without compromising its slimline design. The improved autofocus and 4K video capabilities bring this classic camera design right up to date.’
Photographyblog.com – ★★★★½ (Highly Recommended) – ‘If you’re the kind of photographer who loves nothing more than shooting with a 35mm lens, then you’ll definitely love the new Fujifilm X100V.’
Trustedreviews.com – ★★★★★ (Highly Recommended) – ‘With a refinement of specifications and design over the years that Fujifilm has been making the X100 series, the latest in the lineup is a wonderful camera to use. Not only is it a joy to work with, but it also produces excellent images. If you have a penchant for street photography, it’s the ideal choice for you. If you have a limited budget, perhaps look towards older models in the line-up.’
Pcmag.com – 4/5 (Excellent) – ‘The Fujifilm X100V is the camera to get if you like the idea of a Leica rangefinder, but also want modern amenities like autofocus and video.’
Techradar.com – ★★★★½ (Recommended) – ‘The perfect compact camera for the smartphone age, the X100V is a great street photography sidekick that takes the series to new heights. Its tilting screen brings some welcome versatility, while the new sensor, autofocus system and viewfinder make it a fun, engaging travel camera. The fixed focal length won’t be for everyone and it’s relatively pricey, but the X100V is the best premium compact you can buy.’
