So what do the critics think of the Fujifilm X-S10?
Overall most reviews say that the Fujifilm X-S10 is a great mid-range camera, good enough for serious users and accessible enough for amateurs. The videos and pictures are sharp and the stabilization is efficient for handheld shots. The burst rate is excellent for such a decent priced camera. The body is compact, with good grips, making it easy to handle. The battery life could be better though, as could be the autofocus. Controls can be annoying at times. There is a lack of on-body controls that forces users to navigate through menus, which is not the best for a quick snap.

Dpreview.com – 86% (Silver Award) – ‘The Fujifilm X-S10 is an excellent generalist photographers’ camera. It has great image quality, strong video quality and features, and fast burst speeds for capturing fast action. Our only real reservation concerns its autofocus system, as the tracking performance has simply fallen behind what rival cameras are capable of. Otherwise, it proves to be a capable companion for landscape, portrait, travel photography and more.’
Digitalcameraworld.com – ★★★★½ (Recommended) – ‘The Fujifilm X-S10 has more ‘consumer’ controls than the higher-level X-series cameras, but its build quality and handling stand out straight away. The swap to a conventional mode dial might disappoint Fujifilm fans, but the excellent finish, build quality and handling and the inclusion of IBIS (in-body stabilisation) gives this camera a very broad appeal, especially in this price sector, to produce perhaps the best combination of performance, quality and value in the APS-C mirrorless camera market right now.’
Photographyblog.com – ★★★★½ (Highly Recommended) – ‘Overall, the X-S10 successfully takes the Fujifilm X-series in a new direction, unashamedly attempting to appeal to a broader audience, but still retaining the same image quality and colour science that Fuji fans have come to know and love.’
Camerajabber.com – ★★★★½ – ‘Could it be the Fujifilm camera for people who don’t like Fujifilm cameras?’
Amateurphotographer.co.uk – ★★★★★ – ‘Fujifilm’s latest model is the perfect mirrorless upgrade for DSLR users who don’t want full frame’
Thephoblographer.com – four stars out of five – ‘The Fujifilm XS10 is the Fujifilm camera for the masses. It’s for those who are thinking about stepping up from their smartphone. It’s for enthusiasts who want a camera that’s easy to use. This camera is for photographers who were put off with Fujifilm’s usual vintage-style controls and dials. ‘
