Cameralabs.com★★★★ (Highly recommended)

Dpreview.com – 81% (Silver Award) – ‘The Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II is a well-designed enthusiast compact that’s a pleasure to use. It offers a versatile focal range, very good image quality, a large buffer for continuous shooting and 1080/60p video capture. Sharpening and noise reduction in JPEGs are heavy-handed, and battery life still needs work, but aside from those issues Canon has done an impressive job with the second iteration of the G7 X.’

Ephotozine.com★★★★½ (Highly recommended) – ‘The Canon Powershot G7 X Mark II delivers excellent image quality in a pocketable camera with rapid speeds and full manual control.’

Pcmag.com★★★★ (Excellent)

Photographyblog.com★★★★½ (Highly recommended) – ‘In summary, the Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II does just enough to keep up with the main competition, although the continued lack of any kind of viewfinder, optical or electronic, gives the Sony Cyber-shot RX100 Mk IV the edge. If you don’t value that feature, though, then this new camera remains a serious rival to Sony’s offering.’

Photoreview.com.au – 8.7/10 (Editor’s choice)

Trustedreviews.com★★★★– ‘A well-equipped premium compact camera, which is capable of producing some fantastic images. The G7X Mark II is a great backup camera, but others in Canon’s G-series lineup may be more suited to enthusiast photographers.’

Techradar.com★★★★½

Wired.com – 8/10 – ‘It might not be the coolest or the sexiest compact you can buy, but it’s well-rounded and offers plenty of power for the average camera buyer. Even if you’re a photo pro looking for something that’s flexible and portable, you can’t go wrong—the G7 X Mark II handles like a bigger camera, and its advanced controls and features won’t make you regret leaving the DSLR at home.’
