Released in April 2018, the Canon Rebel T7 features a 24.1 megapixels APS-C CMOS sensor, a 9-points autofocus, and a 100 – 6400 ISO sensitivity, expendable to 12800. It can take up to 3 pictures per second in continuous shot. Videos can be shot at 50fps and 60fps in 720p, or 24fps, 25fps and 30fps in 1080p. Pictures and videos will be stored on a SD card, either SDHC or SDXC.

It has a 3.0” TFT LCD screen in a 4:3 ratio, a built-in flash, and a good range of connectivity options : USB 2.0, Wi-Fi, and NFC. The camera is powered by a proprietary Canon Li-ion battery, able to last up to 500 shots with the optical viewfinder. The body weighs 475g, battery included. It accepts any EF/EF-S MOUNT lens compatible with APS-C sensors.

So what do the critics think of the Canon EOS Rebel T7 / EOS 2000D?

Overall most reviews say that the Canon Rebel T7 is a very decent piece of gear. It replaces the Canon Rebel T6, offering a nice upgrade for the sensor, from 17.9MP to 24.1MP. The camera is fairly easy-to-use and offers a good image quality, though it is overall too limited for a professional use. The continuous shooting is too slow, and the sensitivity of the APS-C CMOS sensor is not that great in low light settings. The lack of autofocus in video mode and the absence of 4K video shooting are often cited as major issues for videographers.
